THON 2010 Recap 02/28/2010

Hey all,
THON 2010 is now complete, so we turn ahead to THON 2011.  We are very proud of our dancers, Pat and Eli.  For more information and pictures check out our THON page.  THON on FTK!

Hello all,
As January comes to a close we are settling in academically.  Also, we would thank to thank all that have shown interest in joining our fraternity.  If you haven't had a chance to come out and meet the brothers, it isn't too late!  Check the calendar out and see what events are coming up and try to make it to one or two of them.  It is never too late.  Good luck with classes.

On Sunday, November 15th, Phi Mu Delta hosted a Call of Duty tournament, donating all proceeds to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Several teams of brothers also participated in the tournament. Brothers Chris Amthor, Chris "The Snake" Rovere, David Rounsley-Maxwell, and Alex Grusler, forming team German Efficiency, made it to the finals but fell to team Off in the Woods, who were far more prepared. The tournament was featured in the Daily Collegian. Click the link to read the article.
The brotherhood would like to thank Max Freeman for all his hard work in setting the event up. Furthermore Phi Mu Delta would like to thank Subway and Qdoba for sponsoring the tournament.

Hey guys,
As everyone knows its time for Recruitment to kick off into full gear.  We will be having lots of fun events throughout the month of September for any rushes to come out the the house and hang out with the brothers.  Catered events, movies, and just some fun sports are a few of the events that will be going on.  The first event we will be holding is a poker night and it will be this Thursday night, Septmeber 3rd at 7:00PM.  If you are a prospective rush then feel free to come out and play or just hang out.  If you have any questions about rush or anything along those lines please contact Pat Wong either by phone (718-757-1686) or by E-mail (prw124@psu.edu).  Thats all the information for now. Check back soon for more updates.

Hey everyone!
I hope you all have had a great summer thus far.  I have good news.  The house is still standing and is in good condition as older brothers are moving to new rooms and new brothers are moving in.  Looks like we will have a packed house again this semester.  Well as everyone knows the 2009 Fall semester is just around the corner and we are hoping to get things off to a great start.  We want to have an outstanding recruitment period this Fall and we're already starting to work on it.  Things continue to look up for the mu epsilon chapter of Phi Mu Delta.  I am sure we are all looking forward to another excellent semester in State College.  I just wanted to see how everyone was doing as the summer comes to a close and to wish everyone good luck in moving back to PSU.  Also to those guys who are currently taking summer classes, good luck with your finals which are coming up soon.  See everyone in a few weeks!

Philanthropy 04/22/2009

Hey everyone,
Just a quick update on our how our Philanthropy went for the spring semester.  We raised $150 for the Saint Jude's Children's Hospital thanks for Panda Express in the HUB.  They donated a portion of the money that they made when people came in with our flyers and we did a great job distributing them.  Next year we will have bigger philanthropy events so stay tuned for those to come.  Earlier in the year we also held our second annual food drive for the State College Food bank where we collected non perrishable foods.  We ended up collecting lots of food this semester and we will be holding the same event again next year.

Mudhouse Soccer 04/13/2009

Just thought I would give a quick update on the soccer team.  They are currently 0-2-1 and looking to go 2-2-1 by the end of the season.  The high scorers are Jimmy Weber and Chris Rovere.  The team is anchored by great goalkeeping from Chris Amthor.  All of the games played have been close so we will see what the rest of the season has in store

Hey everyone.  Its time for another update and I have a bunch of information for you.  First we have a bunch of events coming up in the next couple weeks, most important being a clean-up at Mount Nittany.  That event will be held at 8 AM on April 25th.  That is blue and white weekend and I know we will also be doing things with alumni later that day and through out the weekend.  Also we have a philanthropy event for St. Jude's Children's Hospital on April 16th at the HUB on campus.  In other news, this years Phi Mu Delta soccer team is 0-2-1 with two more games to play.

You may also notice a new page on the website titled FAQ's.  This is a list of frequently asked questions for prospective brothers so check it out if you have any questions.  Last but not least, we are getting down to the end of the semester so all of the brothers are studying hard so that we can get good scores on our finals. Continue checking for more updates.

THON 2009 02/25/2009

THON 2009 came to a close this past Sunday and the Penn State student body couldn't be more proud of how well it did this year.  As a Fraternity, Phi Mu Delta couldn't be more proud of their three dancers.  The three brothers who danced in the IFC/Panhellenic Dance MaraTHON were President Chris Amthor, Vice President of Finance Mitchell Foreman, and Social Chairman Jon Howard.  As a total THON raised $7,490,133.87 this year which surpassed last years total by nearly 1 million dollars.  We are still waiting to find out what our final fraternity THON total was but apparently they still don't have official numbers yet for individual fraternities.  As soon as we get that information it will be available on the site.  Thats all for now.  More updates soon to come.

Its almost that time again.  There are only two canning weekends left which means that THON is right around the corner.  As a chapter we must decided on 2 brothers to represent us at the dance.  Thanks to past THON fundraising efforts, we have been awarded 2 extra dancers which gives us a total of 4 THON dancers from Phi Mu Delta.  We have decided on which brothers will be dancing in THON this year and those brothers are: Nick Ferrughelli, Chris Amthor, Alex Grusler, and Mitch Foreman.  Keep up the good work and good luck dancers!
